Sony Spanish Language VAIO

The number of bilingual persons, especially Spanish speakers, in the United States is on the rise. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 31 million U.S. citizens older than five speak Spanish at home. That number does not include the large number of migrant workers, permanent residents, and those here on student or work visas who also primarily speak Spanish. Anyone who has ever taken a foreign language class that has required a typewritten or word- processed paper knows how difficult typing it on a standard-English computer can be. That’s why Sony has introduced its first Spanish language PC in the United States. The new Spanish-version FJ en Español notebook computer is based off of Sony’s popular VAIO FJ series.

The FJ en Español is geared towards Spanish-speaking customers who want the latest in computer technology for their home or office. The 14” widescreen notebook is offered in five colors: Onyx Black, Pearl White, Sky Blue, Jade Green and Raspberry Red. A camera and microphone are built in for easy communication with friends and family all over the world. A DVD+RW drive comes standard with the computer. For a limited time, when the computer is purchased, owners will receive a certificate to order a free soccer jersey emblazoned with their name and chosen number, in the color of their new computer.

The release of the FJ en Español marks the beginning of a larger campaign planned by Sony targeting the Unites States Hispanic community. Proposed proponents of this campaign include other Sony products and community outreach programs appealing to the Hispanic population. More information, including more detailed specifications, is available online (in Spanish) at www.sony.com/ vaioenespanol. The FJ en Español starts at a retail price of approximately $1,400.
